Prop Firms Match Reviews: Comparing Similar Programs & Bonuses

How prop firm "match" programs actually work — fee refunds, evaluation profit shares, payout guarantees and bonus credits — plus independent reviews of the firms we cover. We publish no scores and no guessed numbers, and tell you exactly which terms to read before you pay.

What does "match" mean at prop firms? 4 types explained.

Not every "match" is created equal. Before comparing firms, understand the four distinct mechanics — each has very different real-world value.

TYPE 01

Fee Refund Matching

The firm returns your challenge fee once you hit a defined milestone, effectively matching your initial outlay. The milestone — and whether the refund is partial or full — differs by firm and is only reliable when read from the firm's own current terms.

TYPE 02

Challenge Profit Share Matching

Some firms let you keep a share of profit generated during the evaluation phase, so the evaluation itself can pay. Whether a given plan includes this, and on what terms, must be confirmed on the firm's plan page.

TYPE 03

Payout Matching / Guarantee

A commitment tied to payout speed — for example an improved split or compensation if the firm misses its own stated payout window. Treat the specific promise as unverified until you read it in the firm's own documentation.

TYPE 04

Deposit / Credit Matching

A purchase is matched with bonus credit or additional account size. This is the most marketing-driven of the four, so check what the credit can actually be spent on and whether it expires.

Once you know which of the four mechanics you're looking at, the terms only exist on the firm's own page. The5ers is one of the forex/CFD firms we cover.

Illustrative example

If a challenge costs $300, a match is worth…

A 100% fee refund
$300 back
Only once the firm's stated milestone is met
A 50% fee refund
$150 back
Smaller, but often easier to actually trigger

These are worked examples of the arithmetic, not offers. We do not attribute a refund percentage to any firm unless it is confirmable on that firm's own current site.

Methodology

How we review, and why there are no scores

A number like "8.5/10" implies a measurement. We can't measure payout reliability or rule enforcement from the outside, so we don't publish scores, stars or rankings at all.

If you ever see a score on this site, it is a bug — tell us and we'll remove it.

  1. 01

    Market focus first

We identify whether a firm is built for forex/CFD or futures, because that decides fit more than any other single factor.

  2. 02

    Specs only when confirmable

Profit split, drawdown type, targets, pricing, payout timing, platforms and account sizes are published only from the firm's own current site. Otherwise: Not specified.

  3. 03

    Balanced pros and cons

Every review carries both, and an explicit 'best for' and 'not ideal for' so you can rule a firm out quickly.

  4. 04

    A verification checklist

Each review ends with the four things to read on the firm's site before paying — because that page, not ours, is the source of truth.

  5. 05

    No urgency, no fake proof

No countdown timers, no viewer counts, no invented testimonials or payout screenshots.

That verification step happens on the firm's own site, not ours. FundingPips's live plan page is the place to read the rules that apply to you.

Caution

Hidden requirements in match programs: what to watch for

Claim windows

A refund may have to be claimed within a fixed period after funding — check the window before you plan around it.

Minimum payout counts

Some matches only activate after a set number of successful payouts.

Profit thresholds

Total profit may need to exceed a defined amount before the match applies.

Account-type restrictions

Match programs often exclude certain plan types — confirm yours qualifies.

Forfeiture clauses

A single rule breach can void the entire match. Read what counts as a breach.

Cash vs credit

A 'refund' paid as store credit toward another challenge is not the same as cash.

Every one of those clauses lives in the firm's own terms. Read Alpha Capital's current plan page with that checklist in hand.
